The short answer
Choose Murph
Choose Murph when a Daylio pattern raises more questions than it answers. Murph weighs it against your symptoms, routines, records, and past attempts, then helps you choose what to try and checks back on it.
Choose Daylio
Choose Daylio if you want quick daily mood and activity logging, flexible categories, habit goals, long-term charts, and journal reports you can export.
Can Murph and Daylio work together?
Keep the daily mood and activity record in Daylio. When a chart, export, or suspected pattern needs careful reading beside your other health data, bring it to Murph, record the decision, and revisit it later. Daylio does not share the journal with Murph on its own.

Material tradeoffs
- The quick check-in makes it easier to log every day, but the charts are only as complete and accurate as your entries.
- Charts can suggest that two things are linked without ruling out other factors or proving cause.
- Murph adds interpretation and a plan, but it does not offer Daylio's fast structured logging, dense diary history, or exportable journal reports.
Common questions about Murph and Daylio
How is Daylio different from Murph?
Daylio builds a structured history from quick self-reports. Murph does not keep a mood log. Its record is an ongoing private health conversation that can question what a chart cannot prove, relate it to your other health evidence, and remember what you decided.
Do Daylio charts prove what causes a mood change?
No. Daylio can show that two logged factors often appear together, but self-report, missing entries, outside factors, and timing all matter. A link in a journal is a reason to look closer, not proof of a medical cause.
Where does Daylio get and store its data?
Daylio says entries are stored on your device by default, with backups available through iCloud or Google Drive. On iOS, Apple Health can supply selected data. Review your device backup and privacy settings for the setup you choose.
